If you reside in an area like we do in Western New York (we're in Rochester!) With superbly warm summers and cold snowy winters, you'll understand your choices for your kid's birthday party are largely determined by the weather.
As an August baby, we constantly had little family parties outside at my house. However, together with sons born in November and March, we're always left to book an indoor venue for their parties, if we decided to have them that season. While those with kids with summer birthdays might appear blessed to have numerous choices at their disposal, it can also often feel overwhelming.
While in Climbing Vines Cafe and Play we may be biased because we host indoor parties, I wanted to share with all the 5 most common reasons we hear from past party customers to reserve indoor summer birthdays with us. To them, the stress-free temperament of the indoor summer party is really a no-brainer, plus they're not looking back! Following their first indoor summer party, they keep hosting with us year after year.


The most common cause for a customer to reserve a summer indoor party with us is so they don't need to stalk the weather forecast for updates in the weeks leading up to the celebration. Nothing can derail a fun celebration faster than having to cram all your visitors inside your home, waiting for a storm to pass. And if you've ever had to cancel or postpone your child's birthday due to weather, then you know how heartbreaking that can be.
We receive dozens of calls each summer a couple of days before someone's outdoor party is supposed to take place to find out if we have an open slot for them within our indoor party place due to weather woes. We can usually pull off this if the spot remains open, but hosts will sadly have to scramble and allow all their guests know of the change in place and probably change in time, and also change all of their catering requests to accommodate their new party program.
While of course rain is likely the biggest obstacle you may face, extreme warmth, unseasonably cool weather, and wind may also pose issues for your food, decorations, along with your guests' possessions. You will probably end up investing in a tent another weather barrier just to ease your mind a bit, which can be costly and require lots of precious time to set up and take down. I will not even tell the story of the time my Dad set a tent up for a party in a windstorm and wound up with an insurance coverage for 4 damaged automobiles when it blew away (weights and anchors and all!) ...

Aside from the obvious weather concerns it's possible to avoid with a indoor celebration, there may also just be something so straightforward and lovely about an indoor summer party. Sometimes it's wonderful to take a short break from the outside, sip coffee in an air-conditioned cafe, and have a real conversation with other adults while the children play, rather than chasing children around attempting to receive their fur on them keeping them away from your in-ground pool. I'm not sure about you, but I could never quite relax at an outdoor summer birthday celebration with a two and a 4 year-old. While they sure do have a good time running around, we usually leave in a daze or with a tantrum, unsure whether we even had the time to chat or check in with everybody.
While I absolutely love a good barbecue or summer grilling extravaganza, I find it so refreshing when we can take a rest in the same-old backyard celebration and spend a few hours at a relaxing, cool, and most significantly -- contained! -- atmosphere.
It's also freeing as a guest to have the remainder of the day to do as we want as a family, not need to worry about getting the kids into a tub right after the party or stopping home to cool off and change clothes.
I guarantee that in the event you book an indoor celebration for your son or daughter, guests (especially family) might seem a bit confused at first (why not take advantage of the summer weather while we can, right?) But after hosting countless indoor parties I can tell you for sure that on the day-of, you and your guests will realize how pleasant it is to reunite in an air-conditioned private party for a couple hours.

3) EATING IN PEACE


Speaking of how relaxing an indoor playground equipment for sale, air-conditioned party can be, can we talk about food for a moment? Not only are food choices limited with an outside celebration due to heat, but it can be difficult to keep food covered and keep the bugs, bees, and other debris off.
Right now, my sweet 4 year old boy is terrified of bees, and also the fastest way to send him into a tailspin is for him to sit down to eat a cupcake or his meal and also have bees swarming around. Therefore, for our loved ones, the food factor alone could be sufficient to warrant an indoor party.
Eating in peace without having to find colour or a seat or a place away from pests is just one of these things that you do not realize can be so glorious until you attend your fourth or fifth outside summer gathering and after that get a rest from them. Among the most common things we hear is how nice it's to sit and eat and watch the kiddos play with no any other venue-related cares or concerns. This is going to be especially important when you are going to be having older family members attend who can battle with being portable in the grass or mud and finding seating at outdoor parties.

4) DECOR OPTIONS GALORE


While celebration aesthetic might not be a deciding factor for every household, it sure is significantly easier to make a themed extravaganza which lighting a youngster's face up when the party's indoors. The decorations demanded are often less since the area is smaller and contained contained, and you won't need to be concerned about balloons and streamers blowing all about or securing table covers .
Since we do host cellular events outdoors in Climbing Vines Cafe and Play, I will also speak from experience when I say the time that it takes to set up (and take down!) Decorations for an outdoor party compared to a indoor celebration generally ends up being double. Finding good places to hang banners, requiring two people to hold and protect everything, and locating weights or other restraints for everything can be a genuine hassle on celebration.
And you will have enough to worry about this afternoon, right?
Furthermore, if your pinterest boards are full of cute centerpieces, a candy bar, or anything which may be affected by wind (or attract bees!) You will likely have to restrategize to get an outdoor soiree.
Not to mention decoration typically can only get used once if used outdoors, but repurposed again and again if used for an indoor event. 5) YOU MAY ACTUALLY SAVE MONEY
Speaking of money, probably the greatest misconception I hear from clients is that they wish to host a party in their house to save the rental fee of an indoor space. I usually laugh at this because it makes perfect sense, in other words, if you have never hosted an outside party.
With all the"extras" such as tents, seat rentals, extra decorations, weather reinforcements, clean-up provides, games and activities for your kids (that you won't need to supply at a play place!) It is very likely you are going to end up spending MUCH more hosting a party at your home or an outdoor venue than you would indoors.
I am not sure how other indoor spaces handle their supplies, but we only charge guests for extra drinks and supplies and such on the day of the celebration if they wind up needing themand we also allow parties to bring in their OWN meals, dessert, and decoration should they choose!
Money aside, spending countless hours cleaning prior to, during, and following the party may also take a toll. Wouldn't it be wonderful to walk into a sparkling clean space and leave with your guests once the party's over, not needing to be concerned about the cleanup, trash removal, tent teardown, etc?
You can just head home and unwind with your family (yes, possibly outside!)
In addition to the time spent cleaning before and after the party, wouldn't it ALSO be nice to not need to play"server" during the event? For clients that bring in their own food and decor, our dedicated party assistants set up everything, refill and mend food and beverages as needed, clear plates, cut and serve the cake, and package up all of the leftovers in the end of the celebration!
In the end, it is your child's special day and you wish to spend those precious hours making memories and seeing along with your guests-- not running about chasing your decorations or refilling the fruit bowl countless times.
